On September 21, 2024, Mitch Mechaley presented shadow boxes to VFW Post 5860 Commander Derek Besler and American Legion Post 164 Vice Commander Keith Schultz. Both the VFW Post and American Legion Post initiated the monument project and continue to provide ongoing support.
